HEEHRA Rebates available through TECH Clean California

Income-eligible Californians can maximize their savings when upgrading to a heat pump HVAC system. These rebates are exclusively available through TECH Clean California-certified, HEEHRA-trained contractors. Income-qualified California residents can receive a HEEHRA rebate of up to $4,000 or $8,000 for switching to a new heat pump HVAC system. Plus, these rebates can be combined with other incentives for even greater savings. To explore or enroll for HEEHRA rebates, click the button that best describes who you are:

Please note: HEEHRA rebates are funded by the federal Inflation Reduction Act, which is overseen by the U.S. Department of Energy and managed by the California Energy Commission (CEC). HEEHRA rebates are only available through HEEHRA-trained, TECH Clean California-certified contractors.

Single Family HEEHRA Rebates Close to New Income Verifications & Northern Region is Fully Reserved

As of February 24, 2026, HEEHRA single family rebates are fully reserved for projects statewide. In addition, the program is no longer accepting new income verification applications for single family projects statewide. All submitted reservation requests for projects in the Northern California region that were not approved have been put on a waitlist in case additional funding becomes available. Reservations submitted after February 24, 2026, will also be put on the waitlist. Waitlisted projects are only eligible for a HEEHRA rebate if the heat pump is installed after the reservation is approved.

To join the waitlist, contractors need to submit a reservation request in Iris for their customer that includes all required project information and document attachments. The new reservation request will be kept in the 'Under Review' status until any new funding is available.

HEEHRA-trained and TECH Clean California-certified contractors will be notified if a reservation is approved. Projects installed before receiving an approved reservation are not eligible for HEEHRA rebates.

HEEHRA projects must be completed, invoiced, and have a claim with complete documentation submitted within 120 days from the date the rebate reservation was approved. While 120 days are provided to complete the installation and submit the rebate claim and required documents, we strongly recommend completing and closing out projects in less time.

Consumers who have questions about the status of their reservation request or rebate should contact their contractor or TECH Clean California at tech.info@energy-solution.com, or navigate to https://techcleanca.com/incentives/heehrarebates-claim-dashboard/ for a self-service option.
