About this incentive

Up to $3,000 when you replace existing gas heat with a variable-capacity heat pump, or $2,000 for replacing gas heat with a two-stage heat pump (15.2 SEER2 minimum).
Replacement must be of existing gas heating and must be installed by a participating contractor in the program’s contractor network; there are no income qualifications.

Detailed description

Incentive amounts:

$3,000 rebate for replacing existing gas heat with a new variable-capacity heat pump. $2,000 rebate when replacing existing gas heat with a new two-stage heat pump (15.2 SEER2 minimum).

Must use a participating contractor in the SMUD Contractor Network (SMUDContractorNetwork.org)
